Is this legal?
Slide Fire Stock Local fun store has them, and my dad swears by his. They work well, but I don't want a trip to federal prison, if I can help it. Comes with an ATF letter, but still..... |

where in TX are you? if in NTX go to http://www.militarygunsupply.com/ walk in pay cash.. no paper trail. whats diffrent between this and the other one that was approved then recalled by the ATF.. ? this one has no spring From what I can tell, it's functionally no different than swingset's bumpfire stick. 2x4 with a dowel rod in it. Just alot more polished. |

They are legal for now. Very popular. Way overpriced. I remember the Atkins stock for 10/22, 1919 thingy and so forth it was legal for a short time then it wasn't, people had to turn in a part and it was basically an expensive stock with no function. Bill Atkins got shafted on an invention and the rest is water under the bridge. Approval letters are worth nothing when the ATF changes their mind. I agree with everyone that the ATF should be store where they sell stuff and regulate nothing. |

Seems to me that if you have an atkins stock, you could mount a VFG to the action and it would work just like this one. |

I just think if they're going to regulate anything they should be held to the same rules of precedent, method and evidence that any of the rest of us in LE (or the court systems) are. Lacking that, keep the bomb and arson guys, send the couple of decent 2A freindly (or at least non-hostile) to the Feebs and kick the rest - especially the tech branch - out of anything having remotely to do with LE, except maybe working in the cafeteria. |
