Device Measures "Malintent".
"Not good enough for wide spread use...YET." Welcome to Nineteen Eighty-Four. Now we're going to have to be amatuer-polygraphed for the crime of walking around outside- in addition to having our wives/children electronically stripped naked and groped by the King's Men. Fuck that noise. |
|
Quoted:
"Either you're with "us", or you're with the terrorists." This is what us wants. So, I suppose that makes all of you terrorists. Interedasting when you combine what you said with the main headline from the article: Homeland Security Probing 'Pre-Crime'? DHS tests new technology to measure behavior of potential terrorists.
Nothing to see here, folks. Just go watch football and play Angry Birds. |
|
I can see it now. Them: Sir, step into our pre-crime scanner. Me: Do I have a choice? Them: No. Me: Ok (blood pressure skyrockets at my rage against the heinous abuse of power). Them: This machine says you are about to commit a crime. Me: I was fine until you forced me to step into a scanner that you claim can predict the future. Them: See, its works! |
| This horseshit is the very essence of totalitarianism. This is an unbridled assault on YOUR freedom. Folks, the people who support this want nothing less than the power to arbitrarily imprison anyone they want. Stalin and Pol Pot must be reaching orgasm in their graves. |

So what are they gonna do when the terrorist simply steps up his timetable? Long line develops in front of the machine where the 'interview' is held outside the event. 100k are expected. Terrorist sees that he cannot get inside . . . walks up to the back of the line, waits until he is in the middle of the crowd . . . boom. Or drives by shooting. Or drops off backpack with bomb. Take your pick. You are not identifying potential terrorists . . . you are giving them another opportunity. |

Exactly, just like the TSA, this is about power and control, not about safety or stopping terrorism. |

And, eventually, they will use this to add you to no-fly lists, etc. There will be no fall-out for DHS/TSA/etc...you will be questioned further, you will be treated as a criminal despite there being no evidence of such.
Six-twelve months ago it was 100% tin foil. Of course, when all this began, we were all reassured that there would be no need for it to be intrusive. Yet, the road continues to go that direction.

Welcome to Nineteen Eighty-Four. I'm fairly certain those in charge of DHS policy aren't big into the works of George Orwell. I myself envision a coffee table covered w/ Ellen Degeneres's autobiography, a few copies of 'Dog World' magazine, and the users guide for the pleasure-vibe 3000. |

Quoted:
Whoop ! That's awesome...... Can we start with the politicians? Love it, park two on the east side of the capitol building. One for the house and one for the senate. Two or three beers would probably screw up the results, so Ted Kennedy still would have made it through. |

you duped me http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=1190710 kinda funny considering your screen name. lol |

our government knows best. dont argue. this is more stuff to protect the children. to ferret out those of us with 'wrong' thoughts.... those with 'right thoughts' will not have an issue.
hows about the irony though. in about 4 or 5 cities over the last weekend (memorial) they had flash mobs and youths shooting, looting, robbing, car jacking and in general terrorizing the local populace. just go google the miami south beach stuff.. so while our minders figure out ways to find those of us with 'wrong' thought, the riffraff, many of whom our taxes provide food, shelter and medical care, are out shooting at each other, the cops and misplaced citizens and tourists and providing the terror that the mooslim jihadis just dont seem to be able get going in amerika. so.. take our tax dollars, support the hoodlims who rape, rob and vandalize, and fund the various companies who make mind reading and naked scanning machines, and the useless tsa and other security trolls that want to put their fingers up the various orifices of my 5 year daughter or your 90 year old grandma. and forget about the border, nothing to see there, move along feel safe yet? pissed off enough yet? they all need to be sent packing, turned out of office, they're either too busy trying to stay in office and just plain permanently out to lunch... The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.

If you do not support this then you support "allowing dangerous terrorists to buy firearms". ![]() As of yet, there is no DHS/TSA screening to drive to my destination, I will continue to do that in leau of flying. And of course, Muslims will be exempt from this, as they find it offensive (just like the invasive pat downs). |

Implement devices, policies and laws such as this and you may very well make "terrorists" out of people who have previously been law abiding. They commit acts, the blatant socialists use it as a springboard for even more draconian measures. Declare a patriotic, God fearing, America loving man who fought for his country a domestic terrorist, strip him of his constitutional rights and make him a second class citizen for his beliefs and see what happens. The most dangerous thing is someone backed into a corner with nowhere to go or someone who believes that his ideals eclipse the importance of his own life. Look at the terrorists we face now. That is why they are so dangerous, they believe their cause (however fucked up it may be) is more important then their own life. |

I'm going to lump this into the same category as Climate Change. Government agenda masked in psuedo-science.
"You don't have to do anything, but we're just not comfortable with you having/ voicing/ expressing you're own opinion of anything that is critical of us so we will intimidate you into silence and compliance with our 'experts' or else." "We feel ....." |
|
Questionable science at best.
