| Well I just got a speeding ticket in the mail 40 in a 25 and it's an $85 fine, nice huh? I wondered what that flash was in the rear view mirror last week. Actually it kind of pisses me off because it was a mobile unit "strategically placed" but I was speeding. |

Not sure what the law says in OH but in AZ we don't pay fuck. Law says you MUST BE SERVED by an officer of the court, which means documents in hand from an agent of the court to your speeding ass. Otherwise you're not obligated to jack motherfucking shit. They'll send a douche to your door to serve you after 90 days, just let him knock all afternoon. As long as they don't physically GIVE you the ticket, you're in the clear. Booyaa.
ETA: I've had 3 speeding tickets that I haven't paid because I didn't answer the door and accept the documents. Ha. |

In. They got rid of the photocamera BS because IIRC 13% of the tickets mailed out were actually paid. It was signed into law by then governor now DHS kingpin Janet Napolitardo too, btw. |

Being as it was a mobile unit,and not a cop,it kind of puts revenue generation as the only reason speeding tickets are given out doesn't it ? Puts the whole safety argument used by cops to a rest when the guy never stopped speeding because he was never pulled over. |

Plead not guilty. Dont show up to court, you will be found guilty. Appeal that to the next court, get a date, wait until last minute, ask for a continuance because of family emergency. Show up at the next date, ask for trial by jury. The asst DA will look at you like you have three eyeballs. Then tell him you are willing to plea it down to a cheap non-points violation instead. If they still wont play, you can rest easy knowing the $85 you are paying will pale in comparison to what it cost the courts to pay the cop, pay the clerks, pay the judges, pay the DA's, etc just to collect your measly $85.
If everyone did this, speeding tickets as revenue enhancement would go away pretty quick. BTW, this has gotten me out of a few big points violations when I was young. |

Is the citation from some third party out of state company or is it from the local police force first off?
If some out of state company I would wipe my ass with it and mail it back to them. If the local police you are gonna probably have to either pay it or fight it in court. |
