Longer story short.
Wife wants steaks on the grill. I have some that I bought last week. I bought a hunk and cut them up myself. It's less than half the price of buying steaks. Strip steaks for $5.99/lb. If I buy them in steaks they are $12.49 a pound. I don't pay that much for anything we eat. So I go out to see if I can get another slab. They have raised the price to $7.49 /lb. Bastards. I search through the bin and find one still marked $5.99/lb. I grab it and some veggies and head for the check out. The total rings up more than I thought it would. Before I leave, after I paid, I looked at the receipt. See pics below of receipt that says it's $39.40. Sticker says $31.51. 
I say. hey this rung up wrong. She gets the manager. manager takes me to the customer service counter and says, hey, this rung up wrong, fix it. I am expecting $7.89 back. She hands me $39.90 and the slab of beef. I am like....wut? and she says, yep if it rings up wrong you get it for free

Even ground beef is $5 / lb That is why, when I can, I buy in bulk and cut it up myself. I usually buy the top or bottom round roast on sale for $2.99 / lb, cut that into steaks and take the tenderizer blades to it. My preference is venison, but I am all out of everything but burger. This part of the country sucks in every way imaginable. |

| CAB is Ceritified Angus Beef.... even at that...... those prices are an extreme rip off. Angus Premium is only worth it for fine steaks. For ground meat? No way. 2.99 a lb is a good sale price for those roast, you should get a grinder and make you own ground round. |
