I live in the city and have a squirrel problem,I would like to know what the quietest pellet gun on the market is... |

Quoted:
You live in Texas and you're worried about a pellet gun? ![]() If he lives in the center of Houston (as I do) poppin' squirrels with his AR is going to a.) bring the heat or b.) provoke a response from the homies. Possibly both. ETA - Probably applies to DFW, Austin and SA as well. I just trimmed the trees to where the jump to the roof was a little more than the jump to the neighbor's roof. |

Quoted: well if you have a .22 there are some subsonic rounds and they sound like a bb gun...depending on how crowded it is there if it is gamo is probably the way to go. While lethal on squirrel, they are not what I would use in town as they completely penetrate, meaning your shots are limited to "nailing" shots where the bullet will travel into the tree trunk. Hard nosed air rifle pellets will also exit if over 1000 FPS. And hollowpoints at 1000+ FPS will not penetrate deep enough on some shots, you need a SOLID head/neck shot for a humane kill. Which is why they are not allowed for hunting squirrel. |
| Didn't some guy on here use a 5gal bucket partially filled with water, sunflower seeds poured in so they floated to the top and concealed the water beneath them, and a plank of wood for the squirrels to walk up into the bucket? The result was drowned squirrels if I remember correctly. |

Needs a nail filled sheet of plywood at top of railing.... |
) This is a very quiet method.
