I have a dell laptop computer, about 2 years old. I was using it last night and the curser froze. I could not move it at all using the touchpad. I rebooted it several times, but it still won't move. Everything else works fine, i can type and all functions seem to be working just fine. I just can't move the curser using the touchpad, it acts like it is locked up.
Any ideas on how to fix it? I was thinking about buying a mouse to connect to USB port and trying that. Thanks for any advice. |

Is there a little button right above the touch pad ? yeah, some laptops have a button to turn off the mouse/touchpad I got the mouse and the mouse is moving the curser now. The touchpad is still not working, maybe cause i have the mouse plugged in to the usb port. But i don't see any buttons above the touchpad? |

If you list the make and model of your laptop I can see if it has a function key for the touch pad.
Look next to the space bar for a function key (It is usually a different color than the rest of the keys) Use that key in conjunction with F1 through F12 (Or other keys with a touch pad symbol on it.) |

My make and Model is Dell Inspiron 15, it has the intel core 2 duo processor, 4GB RAM and 320GB hard drive. Thats all the info i see on it. There is fn (funcking key) next to the spacebar. I hit is with all the f1-f12 keys and it doesn't affect the touchpad. Thanks for the help. |

You can have 127 mice plugged into a USB bus and they will all work. |

Look under control panel and look for pointing devices....don't have a laptop running in front of me, but it may show as disabled or not working properly. AFARR |
