working days.

Seriously. I don't understand how people do it. The bright light, the heat, all the people around.

Day shift sucks.

Thankfully this is a one day thing.

I much prefer working nights.

Anyone else?

I can't be the only night owl stuck in the land of the daywalkers right now.

Used to love the 3rd shift while I railroaded during the summer.
Hated it in the winter.

I miss 3rd shift , makes you feel like there are a lot less people on the planet and everything is peaceful.

I love working the night shift.

I'm kind of dreading working 1st shift when I'm a new grad.

I'll cuss and hate more after I've had some sleep.

Worked all night the night before last , most of the day yesterday, then drove all night last night to get here to take this day shift.

I haven't slept in a while

I always preferred working nights. Mainly to keep me away from the majority of the assholes.  But, it does slowly take a toll on your body over the years. I never realized how much until I quit working.

I love working 3rd, but it plays hell with my sleep sometimes.

I liked 2nd shift for my summer jobs because it afforded me with the ability to sleep all I wanted.

I hate day shift too, nights are the best.  I have been trapped on days for about 2 years now since I am actually good at my job.  Lesson learned about doing my job correctly as it gets me stuck on days with too much responsibility.

I LOVE nightshift!!  No bosses, no bullshit, on my own, wouldn't have it any other way. I do miss the snuggletime with my SO, but we make up for that.

I love sleeping at night

I doubt I've ever met any of you , but, every time I've been out past 1a.m. it's mostly people you'd see on a sci fi horror movie.

No thanks , I'll let the zombies have their day night

Where I work it's like being a baby sitter on all three shifts, to many drama queens/whiners/socializing. I always wanted to work the 11-7 shift, but alas being in a salary position I'm forced to days and having to listen to the stupidity of upper management.

My shift preference, in order...

Days
Nights
Evenings

I absolutely hate 2nd shift. I am glad those days are over. It's like a jail sentence for the week.....

Get up, eat, drink coffee, mill around, look at the clock. Go to work, come home, go to bed. I can't mow the yard because by the time the dew burns off I don't have enough time. I could start it and finish it the next day, but if it rains in the meantime I'll have a half mowed yard I can't do nothing with. I gained a lot of weight because of inactivity. I didn't want to wear myself out before work and after work I just wanted to grab a bite and go to bed. I felt miserable. My body clock is much more adjusted to dayshift. Midnights were tolerable.

I miss the night shift too, but I had to get off that shift. Those other idiot fucks were going to drive me to murder.

If I was single I would love night shift.  Less people and I'm the boss on nights.  Not the case on days.  But, the wife hates sleeping alone.

Lucky for her, I work a two week rotation days/nights, and never longer than three consecutive days in a row, so I can be on night shift for two or three days, then have a couple days off to revert to a day schedule before going back on a night schedule for a couple more days.  Lots of 24 hour periods without sleep when I'm on nights.  But overall I think I can be more productive on night shift because I sleep less.

168 hours is normal for me.

I work 12 hour shifts, 7days a week.

I delivered newspapers for a guy I worked with for a couple days, covered him while he was out of town.

Despite severe sleep deprivation (already working two jobs before covering for him), it was actually really nice being out and about in the wee hours of the morning.  Very peaceful, really.
