I just went and saw it today myself. My thoughts are hidden in spoiler tags. Do not read unless you want the movie ruined somewhat for you.
All in all I thought it was very good. Excellent acting, special effects, and a pretty cool premise. Click To View Spoiler |
8 Things To Try If You Get Trapped In A Time Loop#4: Improve Yourself The more attentive amongst you might recall that the concept of this Source Code film is reminiscent of Groundhog Day, a 1993 film where Bill Murray had to prevent Andie MacDowell from blowing up a train. In Groundhog Day, Bill Murray (played by Bill Murray) escaped his time loop by using every iteration of the loop to learn new skills, improving himself and ultimately becoming a better person. To use the language of those who are not nor ever will be better people, he was essentially "power-leveling." Although this did lend a nice arc to his character, time scientists now agree that for the rest of us it is actually advisable to act more like Bill Murray, rather than less like him. Eh, I heard the bad guy who bombs the train is some white guy, instead of a hadji. How fucking realistic is that? Yeah, white guys don't blow up shit... *yawn* And the other 11,432 things blown up by Islamists? Which is more realistic, someone bombing a train in America being: 1. Jihadist 2. White dude |

The white guy who is the bomber speaks rhetoric exactly like some of the so-called "patriots" that infest this site. Oh, so instead of a Islamist, it's a Teabagging White Republican? That certainly sounds believable.

I saw this movie on sunday. The trailers didn't make it look all that good I was really only interested in it because of the director's previous movie Moon. I thought it was good.
Also am I the only one that got a little dust in his eye when he finally got to have a phone conversation with his father? (FYI the voice of the father was Scott Bacula, aka Quantum Leap.) |
