I just noticed to new clip mag out there in the local news stand.  It is called Gun World.

The pages are shinny...

Has anyone subscribed to this mag.  Any good?  I let my G&A expire...

That's been around for years.  It's just another advertiser fellating spank rag.

ETA:  OK, that's an assumption on my part, it's been a while since I've bothered to read one, and Dean Speir actually had something nice to say about it on his blog.  Beats me.

I got my start writing for GunWorld in 1999. They have a new editor since
Jan Libourel retired, so dunno how the mag is now. It used to be pretty good.
I don't know anyone in the industry who knew more about historical handguns
than Jan.

I used to buy it before I discovered American Handgunner, who's light years better than G&A. I haven't read Gun World in over 14-15 years now, maybe more, so I can't say to their current content.

I used to read it fairly often when Jan was the editor.  It seemed a little lower budget before he took over.  Honestly, I have not read it much for several years.  I stopped buying many gun magazines after a few completely idiotic articles several years ago.

My favorite was the one where the writer was trying to make the case that shotguns were useless for L.E. and the military. He admitted he had no experience and was basing his opinion on observing one PD qualify with the shotgun and watching a Mil unit do familiarity training

I think I do need to get a few subscriptions though.  I tend to miss a lot of the new toys that come on the market now.

New?   It has been out for at least twenty years and probably longer.

My oldest issue of Gun World is from 1962, so, yeah it's been around awhile.

Ruger .256 Hawkeye was on the cover IIRC
