I was about 12 when the film came out.  My parents were going through some tough times, later they got divorced.  But for a time while they were still together, when they were going to have an argument, Mom would drop me off at a local theater to watch a couple of movies.  As there were only 4 screens at the theater, it didn't take long before I'd seen all the films and would end up watching them again and again.  "1941" was one of those films.  I must have seen it ten times.  A bright spot in darkness. Perhaps because of that it's one of my favorite films.  I don't know why so many people disliked it.  It's thoroughly entertaining, just disjointed, with little bits of WTF peppered throughout.  Looks like I'll have to put it on my netflix queue and watch it again.

Love that movie.

Hollis Wood.

There is more than one version of that movie and I haven't been able to find one with all the various scenes.

I remember Hollis Wood trying to chop down the Christmas trees that were Japs in disguise.  But this isn't in every movie.  I also remember Wild Bill Kelso shooting the radio, but the dialogue or something else about the scene get's changed.
