I figured I'd introduce myself. (Hope this is the right place to do it).
My name is James, I am from Milwaukee, WI. I've been lurking here for a little while (for information, mostly) and finally decided to join up. With this site's help I built my very own AR from a DEL-TON stripped lower and M4 kit. I wanted to say thank you for that, first and foremost. I also have a lightly modded Ruger 10/22, a NEF Pardner pump, a Remington 770 in .308 and a S&W Sigma 40. Although I don't go as often as I'd like (both due to budget and time constraints) I do enjoy shooting my guns. I am also into cars, I have an '80 RX7 (which is where my username originates from) and a '66 Plymouth Belvedere, both project cars. I'm really looking forward to better weather so I can get my cars and guns out! My AR is all Del-Ton, starting with a stripped lower and an M4 kit. I wanted to build it myself so I could better understand how it works and how to repair it. It has a few modifications, like JP Enterprises trigger springs (which I really like), and Tac*Star grips (although I want to replace these with something better sometime soon). For sights it has a Tru-Glo red/green dot on a riser (yes, I am on a budget), but I'd like to get some BUIS as well in the future, as well as a flashlight. It has a Tac*Star folding front grip on it as it sits, and I am looking to replace the rear grip (I had to put the factory one on, my Tac*Star one broke somehow...). Anyway here's a pic of my baby... http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr98/ProjectFocusFast/Gun%20pics/ar1502.jpg My Ruger was my first gun, admittedly I was never into guns until my mid 20s. I went to a car g2g with some guys at a house in the country, and they all brought their guns and were shooting some targets... I gave it a try and I was hooked. My Ruger has a Tuffer Buffer, Fiberforce stock and now has a 4-12x Bushnell scope on it as well. http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr98/ProjectFocusFast/Gun%20pics/newstock1.jpg My Sigma, NEF and 770 are box-stock, I haven't put a single round through the 770 yet. I've done a little skeet with my NEF (yes, I know it's not the right gun for it...) and had a blast. I recently bought the Sigma as well and have only taken it out once so far. I also recently cleaned up and lightly modded my dad's old Marlin 60 so we can have some friendly .22 competition at the range, and we want to go squirrel hunting this fall. So here's to looking forward to the warmer weather! |

http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr98/ProjectFocusFast/RX7%20pics/090509-3.jpg Currently not running (it is an RX7 after all, pretty sure it needs a fuel pump)... it has a stock port 12a with a Racing Beat/Holley intake, a RB header and custom exhaust, DFLDIS ignition and a few other touches. And the crap stays on the Ruger! Wouldn't mind getting an adjustable cheek rest though. It's a fun plinker. |

There's a guy on my local car forum that I believe is on here too, he has an FFL and runs a business called "Reaper Tactical". At least I'd assume he's on here... Again thanks for the welcomes! |
