Anyone notice that immediately after the Japan earthquake/tsunami incidents and the nuclear accidents, talking heads poured over there to report "from the scene". Only, the big names didn't go to the stricken area so much to report... they went 150 miles away to Tokyo. But once the nuclear radius approached Tokyo, they bugged out 400 miles away to Osaka... or like Shep decided they were needed back in New York. ![]() |

I cant stand TV news, no matter who it is. I can read faster, and learn more, on the internet. I can only listen to the radio in the car, even. Web shows that mimic the TV format, and podcasts, are just as bad.
Technology now is light years better, and we still interact with it like Cronkite on a 11" cabinet TV. |

There we go....Highschool days again! |

Seriously, I know absolutely nothing about radiation range or consequences. I'd be doing the same thing. |
The news media are mostly worthless morons and liars. I learn more about what is going on without them. Take this current crisis. I've learned more about what is going on there from arfcom and the people I know in Japan than the news media. It just reaffirms my belief that the news media should be ignored.
