Thank goodness.  Did they plan to have fucking idiot Will Smith playing Jed?

ETA: I know...maybe we could change it from being about a communist takeover to being about Bob Marley and acceptance!

I thought the movie was scrapped about six months ago after half of it was filmed?  Did I miss something?

THank God! Who in their right mind would want to screw up such a valuable documentary by making a half-assed, cheap, stupid, retarded "remake"? You cannot remake documentaries/ training films.

Fuck Hollywood and their snotty liberal attitude-they need to learn how to cow-tow to their real masters––the people who have bought their cheaply sold liberal asses.  Get used to it, you asked for it, here it is -suck that big red Chinese dick!

I heard on the radio this morning they're doing a $1.5 million re-edit to make the Chinese into North Koreans.  I can see the Chinese being an occupational threat.  The Koreans, not so much.

I agree this political correct shit sucks...BUT...the original Red Dawn had Cubans, not Russians as the primary enemy in Colorado.

The Russina troops came later, as a reinforcing part of the "Axis" of Commies.

What difference does it make if the NKs are the first Commies in the prevert  movie. All Commies are in it together, trying to subvert our precious bodily fluids.

Oh, by the way...Mein Fuhrer, I CAN WALK!

In other words, its just a movie, Francis!

They messed it up so bad from everything I've seen and read that it's probably for the best.

One the Chinese vehicles and weapons are all wrong to the point of looking like a cheesy Sci-Fy channel movie. Then they're talking about digitally changing all the Chinese flags to North Korean...come on.  It's already a stretch to believe the Chinese invade...North Korea...are you kidding me?

Plus, look at the actors they picked for the roles. Stick figure girls,  EMO white kids, and of course the cast is so diverse in race it's almost comical.  The only thing missing is an Eskimo in Jed's role?

It really stinks, because they filmed part of it near my house and I really wanted to see that scene.  Maybe they should do it straight to DVD and Netflix Instant Streaming with a different name?

It was Russian Airborne that dropped on the field behind the school.

Cuban/Russian joint operation from the start with the Cuban Colonel and the Russian General.

I wouldn't mind if the North Koreans were part of the invasion force, but the North Koreans going solo would make about as much sense as the Cubans in the original going solo. The Chinese/Russian alliance in the invasion in the remake made it somewhat believable.

I think the remake was as good as the original.

I, for one, am (or was) looking forward to the Red Dawn remake.

Maybe I'm too young to appreciate many old movies (I still appreciate a lot of the true "classics"), but I have a hard time getting past some of the absolute cheesiness and sub-par production values of '70s and '80s films like the original Dawn of the Dead and Red Dawn.
