| Why should I sign up? Does anyone actually believe it makes their lives better? |

It's a good way to keep in contact with people you meet on travels and others that are cool but you don't necessarily talk to them often.
Not really any problem with drama, if someone is a dumbass just delete them. You can make all your info aside from your name private. |
| It only causes problems if you let people who cause you problems have access. I don't accept any friend requests from my family or anyone I know to be anti-social.It's a good way to catch up and coordinate but mostly I use it to talk shit and have fun. I have never and never will post anything more serious than I'd discuss on GD.Some people feel the need to air dirty laundry and hash our problems: it's a surefire way for me to "unfriend" them. |

I signed up after a few years of basically disappearing after college...caught up with people from school/home, most turned out just exactly how I expected.
I did find that one guy from HS went transgender and entered porn as a he/she. Didn't see that coming. I think 75% get bored with it after a few weeks - the other 25% feel the need to post every...single...second...of their lives. |

Quoted: Why should I sign up? Does anyone actually believe it makes their lives better? I talk to my relatives and friends there in a convenient, centralized network. Yes, it makes my life better to hear the news and joke with people I care about. Why should you get in on that? Clearly it's a bad thing, as you've predetermined. I will cancel my account and go back to regular happiness now. |

Quoted: It's a great tool for keeping in touch with people all over the world. If your friends are libtards then you will see libtards on facebook. Duh man, you can't control it tho...it lets girls that want to fuck you and people you don't agree with have at you...and you can't stop it!!! It'll make your wife into a whore, and you'll be stupider and stuff. ![]() |

Absolutely it makes your life better. I went from a boring wife and 3 kids to now having a wife, 3 kids and 2 girlfriends. I "work late" once a week and "hit the gym" 3 times a week.
This means I now get laid 4 times a week outside of the normal 2 times a month i would get previously. I also get random text messages to me phone which I have to remember to delete lest the wife find them and the whole game becomes ruined. On top of that I have 1 more girlfriend to be in the works. This will then also add another "work late" day to the week. Phew!! Busy busy. Whats not to love about Facebook? |
|
I hunted up most of my ex-girlfriends––reinforced my memories of why they are ex's. What a bunch of fucking train wrecks, but a lot of fun to fuck. Then I got back in touch with my college buddies I haven't talked with in 25 years, know I know why I haven't kept up with them. Now I use it to harass my wife. I'm a firm believer in poking the sleeping tiger (hey, is that a Charlieism?) |

I joined originally to keep up with my favorites musicians, and that's been very helpful. Just be careful who you friend because a lot of people are the suxors. Also, you get to see just how shallow people really are, which can be amusing yet, despicable. Plus, you might get a chance to become friends with Steve Gunslinger, being an ARFCOMer and all. Oh snap, 1000. It feels so good. |

I don't get some of you. I don't have any "drama" because I only accept FRIENDS as friends. I keep in touch with a bunch of my Army buddies I can't see any longer with it, and it's a GREAT way to build rapport with women you are interested in (who are equally not afraid of the internet). No data mining fears because you can set the privacy restrictions as tight as you like. I have damn near no information about myself on there. It can be nothing more than glorified e-mail, or you can spend every moment of your life on there posting pictures and shit. It's what you make of it. |

I talk to guys from my platoon that I haven't seen in nearly 16 years. We're scattered everywhere but still manage to yack about once a month. I also talk to a friend in Afghanistan about once a week on the FB IM system. You don't like it? Don't do it. Either way just shut the fuck up about it. |

I use it to drive my friends crazy, post deep thoughts that I steal from other people, talk smack to my wife, keep in touch with friends and family, and enter contests. I also have MINIMAL information about myself and never click ads or games. Wanna cyber? A/S/L? |

Why should I sign up? Does anyone actually believe it makes their lives better? LOL!!! Have you ever seen anyone actually say "Golly, that website sure made my life better". I've never even viewed a Facebook page (or that of any other social networking site). So that's why I'm asking.
