"Boycott Lists" don't work. They mean a hill of beans in the long run. (Aside from the stupidity of asking Sconnies to forgo Johnsonville brats, you're better off asking them not to breathe.) Nothing will come of any boycott because theres two even numbered sides and a bunch of forgetful people. The best boycotts get everybody to focus on one single thing, so one department of one company gets the hit. Then you get enough percentage to make the guy running that department take notice. And, they simply won't get that. Nobody cares, and the will care less when it means the easy to get to Kwik trip has their 44 ounce soda. Gandhi didn't boycott British owned stuff, he just focused on making his own salt. MLK didn't get a boycott of Montgomery AL stuff in general, but focused on one bus line. THAT is how you do a boycott. This boycotting is just a foolish exercise in futility. Really, there's going to be a boycott of the Republican Party and Wal-Mart by the left. No fucking shit! That will work, I am sure Wal-Mart and The REPUBLICAN PARTY will feel the hurt from some smelly hippies not giving them any money. These just make the people compiling the list feel good. I am more of a realist, when I want to feel good I just jerk off. It's easier. Anyway, what you hangin out on that pile of tripe web site for in the first place?

I bought brats today (at walmart no less) for lunch. I think johnsonville, in a red ziploc seal bag. Or are johnsonvilles the ones you can only buy raw?
Had one and some cheap walmart triscuit-equivalents, then saw the OP thinking oh I done fucked up. then I clicked the link and was like "oh." |

I like the little graph on the side that says Walker wants to create 250,000 jobs. But since he declined on the 'high speed rail' project. That means we have lost 15,000 jobs.
LOL! how in the world do you veto a project and all the sudden 15,000 lose their jobs.

Teresa gets it.
Theresa says: February 22, 2011 at 5:23 pm Before any of your initiate some sort of boycott, I highly suggest you do a little more research of your own. It is unwise to take things at face value. For example, I have to admit I was highly disappointed to find my favorite team, the Minnesota Wild, listed. I found that “odd” so I decided to do a little more research. Please notice that the bigger of the two lists has the heading of “employer.” All that means is that people who work for such and such employer donated money. In the case of the Minnesota Wild, the only donations came from team owner, Craig Leipold (former owner of Nashville Predators….also married into the SC Johnson family). The team itself did not send a check to Walker’s campaign, simply one “employee” albeit the owner, did. Am I disappointed in Leipold? Most definitely. Am I surprised? No, as he has a history of being anti-union, even though he has many union employees underneath him. However, I will say that his unionized players live in a much different world than your average person in a public or private union. So please. Get out there and make yourself more informed. Do not base your decisions on a list such of this that leaves out a lot of pertinent information. |

Johnsonvilles come in the ziploc type bag as well as uncooked on the foam trays. IIRC the ones in the bags are the smoked variety. |

I love this comment. It seems none of the idiots on that site have been able to reply to it, possibly because it makes too much sense.
Steven Bannister says:
February 26, 2011 at 2:19 am I support the right of workers to organize! But – there is a DIFFERENCE between PRIVATE sector unions and PUBLIC sector unions!!! Private Sector: Union members sit down at the table with CORPORATE OWNERS to negotiate a bigger piece of the pie. This makes sense – since the workers contribute to the PROFITS of the corporation, they deserve to share in those profits. Public Sector: Union members are NOT sitting at the table with corporate owners. They are sitting at the table with POLITICIANS who are supposed to represent ALL THE CITIZENS of the entire state. And unlike the private sector where union workers help make PROFIT for the company, public sector workers do NOT make any profit or create any actual wealth. Rather, their jobs are to SPEND the existing wealth that comes from the taxpayers of the public sector! In Wisconsin, public workers are demanding the right to sit down at the table and “collectively bargain” with the politicians. OK, fine – but who is MISSING from the table? Answer: the TAXPAYER! It’s the taxpayer’s money that the union members are bargaining for – but the poor taxpayer wasn’t invited to the table! The poor taxpayer has NO representation! Furthermore, the politicians who are sitting at the table are VERY OFTEN the same politicians who got elected with union contributions! So there is a CONFLICT OF INTEREST! The foxes and the wolves (the unions and the politicians) are deciding how to divide up the sheep (the taxpayers!) If unions TRUELY believed in “democracy” and the “right to representation” then they should allow the TAXPAYER to the table and allow the TAXPAYER who provides their salary to “negotiate” and “collectively bargain” as well! Fair is fair! Enough said! Amen! |
