I'm at cheesecake factory located at the mall. I'm working an extrajob as a police officer at the mall for spring break.
There is a guy in Marine camo with his family. Looks legit until my wife pointed out he has earring studs in each ear. I kinda doubt he is USMC now.....what say y'all. |
|
I can't think of a legitimate reason that a Marine would be in cammies at a mall in Texas. If he's a big enough shitbird to do that, there's no reason not to go the extra mile and put in some earrings too.
Guys used to get NJP'd for having earrings in off duty when I was in. |

Utilities off base? ![]() Since that whole "earring studs in each ear" thing goes over even worse than the cammies out in town issue when his SgtMaj gets a hold of him, I'll go with ... ... poser. I would pay to see his SgtMaj go bat shit crazy over earings. After being out for over 30 years, somethings are still fun to watch. That is if he is the real deal |

Marines generally don't wear their field uniforms in public. It doesn't happen. OP just shadow the guy for a bit, I'm sure a real Marine (hopefully Gunny type) will run across him shortly... Bring popcorn. http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTWHIsQTvDwKF6Pt8KK6ZO80SZSOJpyHZ9SejSqjdOzPIXpPz5eeQ&t=1 what is going on in this picture? |

Utilities off base? ![]() Used to be prohibited. Now I see it all the time. Saw a dark green Marine getting gas the other day. Wearing utilies, with no cover. Unsat. Maybe he was a navy corpman or chaplain. Or maybe my Marine Corp has fallen that far.Getting gas is allowed as of sometime 2005 as long as you are in route from or to your duty station. Also one no longer needs to wear their cover while driving. |

When I was in (BC) we had a 1st Shirt come across one of his boys out in town with an earing and he just ripped it out ala Heart Break Ridge. True story, Bro. |

I eye balled them pretty hard. He hot into a Honda civic with 2 girls and a dude almost immediately after I posted. He didn't even open the door for them. He got in the front seat and shut the door before the girls even opened the back doors.
The mall I am at is in Houston. |

Let's say I do catch a poser like this in the future. What governmental authority can I contact to report it? Nobody. He may not even be a poser. He could be some asshole reservist or some idiot on leave who's out taking advantage of the fact that there aren't Marines lurking around every corner waiting to jump on his ass for this kind of shit. He could even be a JROTC cadet. |

I AM a reservist. |
| When I was stationed in the Philippines in the Marines, I watched what happens in this type of scenario. A young PFC came back in from Olongapo and must have really had a wild night. I woke up to alot of yelling and screaming and shit being thrown around. Well It tuns out ,the company Gunny was walking to the head, and met this poor young Marine still wearing his earings from the night before. Since this was Just prior to Desert storm, and gas masks were on everyone mind, The Gunny decided to Make this earing wearer run the morning PT with his mask on. I remember it was hot as hell that morning. I think a pretty good example was made. No more earings were ever worn again. |

Should be NO cammo off bases period including those NG/AR guys. The new cammy pattern is just well shit. Bring back the high shined boots and starched to hell greens if they want to wear em off post.
I see tons of NG/AR guys around here and every one looks like wrinkled shit. The Marine wear is semi only due to the stove pipes and bloused trousers. Some of them truly piss me the fuck off with the faggy beret.. was it one time when those things were EARNED not given out like door prizes? OH ya I may be just a corpsman but IF I saw a poser or a Marine wearing earrings and looking like sloppy shit I would say something. I know the recruiters around here sometimes recruit in digis THAT I do not fault them for esp in the summer months. |
