Fat? people these days are insane. She was a fine specimen of the opposite sex, but sadly she would be considered fat by many today.............as far as I am concerned, she was FINE!
"voluptuous" has never gone out of style with some of us. |

Howard Hughes was all over that. One story had it that Hughes made his chauffeur drive real slow when he and Jane were together. Hughes didn't want a bouncing car to damage her boobs. And because of that, Hughes developed the under wire bra. I can go with that. RIP Jane. |

| Back when I was a kid, I'd get those Hostess Snoballs to take to school in my lunch. When my dad (a WW2 Vet) would see them, he'd always call them "Jane Russells". This meant absolutely nothing to me then, but it would always provoke an irritated response from my mother. He'd just laugh. |

Well she's hiding a gunt under that dress in the OP. You're barking mad. |

There will never be stars to replace these old legends for sheer glamour and class. Idn't it a shame that the older actresses could manage "bedroom eyes" or that Naughty look without being trashy, but today's actresses can't do it without coming off like a skank? |

Man, that was RACY for those days... |

CNN - Screen legend Jane Russell dead at 89
Wow, read this you guys. She would've been home right here on ARFCOM . . Throughout her career, Russell was a staunch conservative who considered Democrats in Hollywood "crazy." "In my day Hollywood was Republican," she once said. "All the heads of the studios were Republicans, and we were fighting Communism. You had John Wayne and Charlton Heston and myself and Bob Mitchum, and President Ronald Reagan came right out of that same group." She was a vocal supporter of the Iraq war from its start in 2003, a vocal opponent of abortion, even in cases of rape or incest, a tireless fighter to "get the Bible back in schools." She despised the Clinton administration and was a fan of former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and conservative commentator Ann Coulter. And in 2003, she described herself as "a teetotal, mean-spirited, right-wing, narrow-minded, conservative Christian bigot," variations of which she frequently used. ETA: Check out her pic with Leo DiCaprio in the CNN link. I bet she was gorgeous to the end. |
