Hey guys, figured someone here could give some quick help.
At work we got a new computer.  Transferred the documents over via external hard drive.  Most everything transferred just fine except a microsoft word documents. Some open fine, some dont. the ones that dont say they are "XLR" files? .  When you try and open them it just shows odd charecter giberish.

Any ideas of help??

A .xlr file is a Microsoft Works spreadsheet or chart file.  You probably don't have Works installed.

This guy is right.

It is a Works spreadsheet file.
It can be opened with excel.

If you don't have excel, it can be opened with OpenOffice (link) or LibreOffice (link)
