I can't find my original thread, but here is a pic of the axe I swabbed with clp, barricade, nothing,t-9 boeshield, and a mix of all three.

It goes:
All three (mix)
Check (nothing)
T-9 boeshield
Barricade (birchwood casey, this is what I was using for a while now)
CLP breakfree

OST. I'd never heard of T-9.
I use reverse electrolysis whenever possible (but that only applies after rust is there).

I think the OP is trying to demonstrate the effectiveness of each at rust prevention.

This is a test I did in which I degreased the metal and scuffed it with steel wool.
Then swabbed the axe with the preventatives.
I kept the axe inside for a few days, then put it outside with rain and snow for over a week.
This is the result so far.

I find it odd that the mix of all three seems very rusty!

Hydrochloric acid ftw if you are brave. Mask and glasses always. Oh and a fan . Nasty shit but you asked what works. They sell gallon jugs at Lowes.

What's naval jelly ?
I can't remember which acid it is. Phosphoric or something. Dissolves rust.
But this was about preventing it.

Boelube is also the best tapping fluid I've ever used. Go Boeing.

Dude, don't leave metal tools out in the rain.
You need some Dealer installed undercoating on that
if you do.

Hence the edited derp.
