Guys and Gals, I sing for a band. Our current name is not representative of the material we cover. Yes, we're a cover band. We're mostly in our thirties and forties and don't have any delusions that we'll be famous some day. Our current name was in place before I joined but it is more evocative of heavy metal by a bunch of disgruntled twenty somethings in a garage. I've tried to come up with some names but nothing is clicking. I think it has cost us gigs because bar owners and patrons expect something else when they hear the name.
We do classic and alt. rock. For example, Heart, Pat Benatar, The Pretenders, The Foo Fighters, Eddie Money, Tom Petty, The Hives, Goo Goo Dolls, Brian Adams, Sublime, and too many others to name. Some material I love, other stuff we do because people want to hear it. There are five of us: Two guitars, one bass, drums, keys, and vocals (me). Four guys, one girl (me). Help. Keep it clean, please. |

Yes, you said to keep it clean. But I’m thinking that much like the band “STP” (Originally: Shirley Temple’s Pussy) you could just use the initials “MCF.” Only let a few people be hip to what the name really means. That way they will tell all their friends. People like having inside knowledge about bands. |

this should be good. I love play guitar, and I dream of becoming one of those backup session guitarists for a country band. I'm already threatening to move to Nashville when my daughter graduates high school. Live on the road touring, being the old guy shredding the guitar in the background behind the next Taylor Swift or whoever.....course my daughter is in kindergarten, so I have time to work on my barre chords more
