I'm just curious as to what this would be worth?
1/4 Drive ratchet, from 4-14mm sockets, universal swivel socket, 5mm swivel socket, and a 2 inch extension in a snap on box? They are used but in good condition. |

Ebay is lousy with used SnapOn tools. many of them stolen. Could I be charged with receiving stolen property, and or lose my money because I get tracked down over them? That would be a really bad situation as I spring the cash and have nothing to show for it. |
|
Resale of Snap-ON tools is a shitty return on what you initially paid.
It is hard to find a person who absolutly loves Snap-On and willing to pay even 75% of what you paid for it in the first place. For what you have for sale, Id say maybe $45-$55 is what you will get out of it. Good Luck |

I guess your looking to buy? Yea. I want a ratchet from Snap on. The rest of the tools I don't really need Snap on. I have about 3 ratchets in my box that are fubared and I don't have a good one in my dd, which is a bad deal. Gotcha...join http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/...I signed up last year and it's an awesome place. I recently picked up a Proto USA 1/2" Torque Wrench in the classifieds lightly used for $35 shipped...it's a close to a $200 wrench. I spend a bunch of time over there. |

In for 27! I LOOOVVVE my snap on 1/4" and 3/8" ratchets Is there a reason to use 1/4 over 3/8? I am going to buy a flex head and normal head ratchet and then an alternator for whatever one I don't buy so I can switch it to my other sockets. I have a big ass made in the usa 1/2 inch craftsman socket for big jobs. |

Get a 3/8 drive first...you can actually pick up a nice Craftsman set with both 3/8 and 1/4 for pretty cheap...usually on sale as well. I am trying to move to Snap On for ratchets at the least. When I get into Heavy Diesel mechanics I gotta shell out the big cash. I don't mind craftsman but the ratchets are shit. I'd rather buy once and cry once and I never taken them back just throw them in the box. So I need snap on. |

I got this for $91 shipped.

You did fine. I made my living for 10 years fixing cars with Hand tools. I still build Street Rods as a hobby now. Anyone who bashes Snap On or MAC and says there is no difference between a Craftsman And a Snap On wrench didn't use them for a living. Some stuff is over priced but things like sockets, ratchets, wrenches are no where in the same game as a Snap On. I have too many tools and most get used. You will be pleased with your new Snap on toys. |

Yes I am serious. Also, I use my crows feet all the time. But I have a set of line wrenches that I have owned for 15 years and have used them maybe once or twice. |
| I also thought Snap On was over priced, but I went to change my oil a few days ago. I bring out the ratchet I'm thinking hell yeah this is gonna be a fun day. Well I go to cranking click click click, grab another ratchet fucker breaks, and then the last one works good enough. What would you suggest, I do as far as a box? I have enough tools to fit pretty much in one box as in a single carry box. However, I am going to buy a socket rail cause they are all just mixed up in my box. |

I generally use the 1/4" from 6-14mm and the 3/8" from 13mm up.... |

If you have a 1/4 ratchet and sockets coming you are good. Just stick with getting a decent selection of 3/8 stuff. And slowly go from there with making note of the work you are using your tools for and what you really run into needing and purchase from there. It's easy to see lots of shiny stuff and keep pushing the Bid button. DON'T! you will end up with a lot of stuff you will never use. I have some cheap stuff because I know I only use it once every few years or more. If your not doing brake work you probably wont need line wrenches very often Etc. Also check Pawn shops they usually have tons of tools. I have scored big time on Snap On, MAC, Matco, Proto, Cornwell stuff for pennies on the dollar. Some may gouge so take your time and shop around. Also a lot of Tool guys have pretty good deals on used stuff off the truck. People will get out of the wrenching business and dump their stuff to a "tool guy" A lot of the tool guys want it gone. Pull into a station when you see a truck and ask. Have cash or credit on hand and you can find some sweet deals if the timing is right. |

I can't even remember the last time I used crows feet, but I can remember a bunch of times I used my line wrenches. Most importanyly, I can rmember EVERY time I should have used a line wrench.

Its a flex head, going for about $48.99 right now I'm not gonna go much higher. Well, this is just a set of metrics and only a few. However, I do have a bunch of other 1/4 and 3/8 mixed sockets which will suffice for what I need I believe. Yeah, I am not going to buy much more, SNAP On is really expensive but in terms of Ratchets I have had enough of broken piece of shit ones. I can make do with most of the rest of the stuff I have but I think ratchets will be good. I am gonna get a good rail for my sockets and put them all on that. In general, just clean up my carry box a bit. |

Yeah I've been inside several farm shops and they have tool boxes with every fucking thing you could use, I mean boxes bigger then I am tall or roughly equal and several times as wide, and they have 2-4 of these boxes. I woudl guess about 20,000-50,000 in tools. |

Well we have this one crescent wrench about 2 feet-3 feet long, and a pipe wrench about 5 feet long. Apparently they come in bigger sizes according do the guys who work on cats, and in the mills. |

| I got about a 4x3ft, by 8 inch stack of tools. Weighs about 50 pounds. What would you guys reccomend for a carry tool box? Also what would you reccomend for socket, and wrench orgazniers. Some of them have carriers but I have having a messy tool box. Second note, I found a bunch of shit I lost in the bottom of my box. 2 plug gappers, and all kinds of sweet stuff buried in there. |
| As stated, ebay is loaded with Snap-On and other brand tools for sale by folks in need of money. Some new, some used. Go to the Snap-On site for the new price. Figure on 50-60% for new stuff on ebay, less for used. Torque wrenches and other equipment goes for less. Boxes are going for give away prices. |
