I have an otterbox on my 4 and I like it. I had the first generation phone for 3 years with no case. Finally switched to the 4 last week.
A little story with our experience and the otterbox. My wife has the 3GS model and I bought her the otterbox for it. I was washing her car one day and she wanted to run and get the kids hair cut so she took my truck. She had her hands full trying to get the baby in the car seat so she put her phone on the bed rail of my truck and strapped the baby in. She got in the truck and took off leaving the phone on the bed rail (I assume this is what happened). About a mile from our house is a railroad crossing that leads to a busy 2 lane road. The phone bounced off the truck at that point (I am still assuming this is what happened). My wife gets home and realizes she doesn't have her phone. She looks thru the house and outside and can't find it. She hops in the truck and looks all thru it and then heads back to everywhere she went. No phone, it's lost no idea what happened. A week goes by and she is trying to convince me to buy the new 4 version that came out (this was June) and I wouldn't do it because her contract wasn't up and it would cost $400. At this point I come up with the theory above concerning the phone falling off the truck. I drive up and done the busy road around the railroad tracks but don't see anything. We had some nasty summer thunderstorms so I figured it would be ruined anyways. Another week goes by and the phone rings, check the caller id and it's my wifes cell number. Some drunk guy is on the other end at a hotel 20 miles from the house saying he has a phone that belongs to my wife. He bought a charger at the local At&t store that was by the hotel and scrolled thru the numbers. I asked where and when he found the phone. He said it was on the busy 2 lane road by the railroad tracks and he found it the day before. We drove up to get the phone and I had $50 I was going to give the man. He was drunk and heading over to Quaker Steak and Lube and refused the cash. Told me to buy him a beer if I ever see him in a bar. That phone sat outside for 2 weeks in bad weather on the side of a road after falling off the back of a truck and was in perfect condition thanks to the otterbox. The otterbox rubber case had a slight tear in it and At&t store replace it for free. |

I got an InCase from BestBuy. The reason I got it was that my iPod cable that plugs into my car radio is bigger than the Apple one. The case has a detachable bottom portion so that I can use my cable. http://www.goincase.com/products/detail/slider-case-cl59667/1 |
