Anyone have a 16.5 with car length rail, an SPR mount w/the red dot rider and a decent size mount (Something like a 50mm)? Trying to get an idea of what my pig poking setup is going to look like. Much appreciated, anything close would also be nice, just no 20" rigs.

He was talking to some of the other seniors about his grandson who had come up to finish putting the roof on his cabin (I made 3 weekend trips to frame the wood and install the sheet metal roof on the porch of his log cabin.) Anyway, it comes up that i like to shoot those "army like guns, ya know the ones that hold 50 some'odd rounds and fire just as fast as you can pull the trigger." Well the other guy is an "in the know" type about AR's, has a ranch and a hell of a pig problem. After the "he finished the roof on my cabin, he's an eagle scout, and he shoots ARs" story, i got an invite for an all i could shoot, "please kill them all" hog hunting weekend. Friggin dream come true buddy. |

My dad lives in an area where a few people have pig problems; he is going to try and get a hook-up with the locals so he can go pig hunting. I don't want to butt in on the deal, but it would be nice to go if I am welcome. |

Crops, fences, buildings, waterways, tools, yards, you name it, they'll destroy it. At times, you have to be a bit heartless, the first few you kill, you'll (or i did at least) try to field dress, ice, prep, and eat since that's just how i was raised, you use what you kill. Hunting pigs isn't about meat though, it's the same as if you killed a mouse. It gets thrown in the trash pile, and then you go find it's bastard friends. That sounds good and fine until your lookin at the piglets going, "but they're so tiny, they won't do that much damage!" Oh yes they will, extermination of the herd is your ONLY solution... other than working your ass to trap them and then sell then to a butcher at like 10cents a lb.
