[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Computer Gurus: Fax via internet services?

Long story short; I'd really like to cut the land-lines and scrap my dedicated fax line too.

Apparently there are a few companies that offer fax via internet services. Does anyone here have any experience with any of these services?

Any you'd recommend? Any to stay away from?

one of my coworkers uses one.. he pay $10/mth and the send the fax as a PDF to his email.. Ill see if I can find out the company that he uses..

I've had eFax for years

You can receive as PDF, .tiff, and eFax's proprietary format.

I used to have Winfax when I had dialup.

See if it will run on the Web.

I was thinking about ditching my land line. The only two things I really need it for are faxes and the tivo updates.
