I was messing around in the yard shooting then I decided to practice my draw only thing is I didn't have a holster with me (#1 dumb move)so I figure I will practice drawing from my waste band and am doing pretty good. Then I decide that I could draw alot faste without the safety on (#2 dumb move) so after about three draws my finger was on the trigger and I shot my self right in the leg.  Luckily I was shooting my .22 with those real light loads that have no gunpowder and it didn't even break the skin by the time it went thru my underwear. i am not going to do that again. beware being stupid thats all I have to say.

If you have a band of waste in your trousers it might be time to work on some personal hygiene issues. [;)]

You have more cojones than me. I would never have admitted that.

That Janet Reno thing was funny. I guess she ruined that name for the next 30 years.

Damn lucky you didn't neuter yourself! Count your blessings, life doesn't give you many second chances. Be careful dude.

But being as this was a .22 rimfire, not the most powerful handgun in the world, and would still blow your nuts clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?[:D]

Greg: Now arent you glad you were only using a .22?  We'd be getting a much different post if you'd used anything bigger (except maybe .25acp, then we'd be hearing about how it bounced off your jeans).

I'm glad you were not seriously hurt.

Something else to avoid, your board name reminded me of it. A friend of mine shot 2 of his fingers off with a 1911 a couple years back. He had gotten into the habbit of cocking his pistol using the front cocking serrations instead of the rear. Bad move. Never cock a pistol using the front serrations because all that does is get your hand up close to the muzzle.

I hear it is safer to draw the gun when it resides above your butt.  That way if you prematurely fire off a bullet, it is only lodged in your cheek. [whacko]

Poster-boys for gun control... [rolleyes]

*Sniff*...1911greg, let's all sing "Kumbaya" and "We shall overcome"...give up your guns now- be a sensitive New Age guy-did you know?: there are 13-no,15-no 18 kids killed by guns a day- 22-no, 43, no,17 times more likely to die with a gun in the house than without one-- put a "Gun-Free Zone" sign on your front lawn, and a "Million Mom March" sticker on your Volvo's window... give up your guns now- do it now for the chiiiiiiiiildren[:D][;D][}:D]
We found that the before-and-after trends in homicide were virtually
identical in the "experimental" and "control" states. So we concluded that
whatever effect the Brady Act had on homicide was negligible in a
statistical sense.
