I am interested in playing around with an Arduino electronics prototyping / project board.
I am a noob to electronics. Does anyone have a good starter kit, project howto book or websites to recomend? I want to become familiar with the platform and then possible make some useful projects for around the house. For example I would like to eventually make a kegerator monitor and a web-based garage door opener/monitor. |

You might look at pic basic, it has a steeper learning curve but, you can make stuff happen with one chip and 3 volts, there are many pic's to choose from with usb, wireless, eeprom , adc converters and much more, if you are ok with basic logic you could do a lot.
ETA I have not use arduino but I have used basic stamps before I got into pic's. |

some good resources on sparkfun.com Awesome folks! Thanks for the feedback. I think I will end up with one of the start kits from MakerShed or SparkFun. They both look about the same to me and come with components and starter project book. http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10173 http://www.makershed.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=MSGSA |
