Where could I sell some silver coins? I have a few rolls of silver quarters and dimes. Are a few rolls and some loose change worth selling, or should I just hold onto it? Jim pawn shop that deals in junk silver probably be your best bet. I would probably just hold it. I sold bullion today. |

Yes, I believe you are right...but my parents didn't have to invest everything we had in it either...we had bags of silver one ounce bars...they were cool as hell to play with!Quoted:
Wow...I remember the scare in 1980...it was 54.00 and ounce and my father bought it then...we were the only idiots buying it when EVERYONE else was selling. You can thank the Heinz family for that. |

At the time, I was working as a coin verification teller, running a coin sorter. Lots and lots of silver in the stream, which management allowed us to buy at face value - at peak, it could be sold for 30x face value. Made some money off of that. Blew it all of course! Then there were the interesting things that we'd come across - mis-struck coins from the mints, and foreign currency of all sorts (Nazi pfennigs, Soviet rubles, English pennies, etc.). I've still got some of that stuff. |

iv been buying it for the last 3 months or so. i just got two silver eagles in the mail today. .....if i was smarter, i would have bought a shitload in 2005, and then be selling it right now, then again, if i WAS smart, i would have been buying a ounce of gold a month when i was on active duty in 1988, i think it was $300 a ounce then, id be almost rich now... brother in law, dug up a mason jar with his backhoe a couple months back, it had 250 silver dollars in it. the value of it, went from $4100.00, to $5400.00 just the other day..lucky bastard, the messed up thing is, i told him i just started buying silver dollars off ebay, and a week later he found this... |
