| can you even use one before "activating" it? I just got mine and wanted to use it like a ipod touch before going to the store to activate my service but I cant get past the "emergency call only" screen |

yup, if you dont want to use it as a phone make sure you choose the option to "activate" it. I did this with an old 3G and it works great as an ipod. |
