| 2 3/4" or 3"? wondering what you guys think |

2 3/4 and I'm sure the guys in the Shotgun Forum would agree.
Though, the slugs in my side saddle are 3" |

Quoted:
2 3/4" Federal LE132 00 Buckshot FTMFW. Everyone knows you should use birdshot, because it won't penetrate the walls.
Seriously though, 2 3/4 buckshot. In close range like home defense that extra "uummph" isn't going to matter and you get to load an extra shell with the short ones. |

and for the guys that say 2 3/4 over 3 why? i dont see cost being a big deal becuse you can get a 15rnd value pack at walmart of 3" 00 for 1$ more than the 2 3/4. just food for thought My reason is because I like my shoulder. I also would be worried about over penetration of the 3" with the extra power and velocity. |

A 2 3/4" shell has plenty of stopping power for intruders and follow up shots are faster and more controlled. Same goes for standard velocity vs low recoil ammo. A intruder isn't going to notice the difference if you use low recoil ammo for HD. There's not much of an added benefit to using a 3" shell. |

If I have a 3" chamber I use 3" shells. I don't like wasting room. The reoil isn't that much more. Plus you get a few extra pellets. Might make all the difference in the world. When you're shooting under excitement, you don't notice recoil anyway. yep ... same reason i use hornady or m855 in my AR instead of wolf for protection ... |
