That is why I keep the open DNS numbers around. I'm using comcast, just not their DNS servers

cause they are down

. I had a buddy in NC resolve google for me so I could find one.

Control Panel - Network and Internet Connections - Network Connections - Right click on local area connections, hit Properties. Select "internet protocol (TCP/IP) version 4" in the box, then hit the properties button below said box. "Obtain DNS server automically" should be highlighted, change it to "Use the following DNS server addresses"

Enter 8.8.8.8 for the preferred DNS server and 8.8.4.4 for the alternate. Hit ok going out, and you should be good.

I'm on comcast, but I run my own dns server on a freebsd firewall/dhcp server.

I use googles dns then as a back up I will use attwireless.. it is slow as shit but it does stay up..
