Okay, I'm seriously thinking about packing my shit and moving out of state.  I've got a couple of possibles in mind, but I'm probably just gonna shotgun some resumes and head to wherever I can get a bite first.  I'm probably gonna apply for some jobs in a few different states.

Here's the issue:  My job(respiratory therapist) requires me to have a national credential.  I've got that.  That national credential lets me apply for a state license for whatever state I want to work in.  I've got a valid license to work in Missouri, but that's it.  Let's say I want to apply for a job in Colorado, among other states.  How to I express the fact that, no, I don't have a license, but I'm willing and eligible to get one?  I don't want to get glossed over because I don't have a license, but I don't want to waste a few hundred bucks and a lot of time getting a stack of licenses for a million states if I'm not sure I can get a job there.  How best to proceed?

I was about to tell you to apply at Mayo(I'm not far from Mayo and know people who work there), but their job site thing is down until December/next year.

Anyway, I'm not sure how to proceed. Hope you score a good job in a nice place though.

How long does it take to get a state license?  If it is just a few days or weeks it shouldn't be an issue.  I would just add a short note on the resume indicating " I don't have a XX state license.  If hired I can get that license in XX days."

stick you where you are and apply everywhere, every time you can

the job market blows ass, and you better be applying for more that a few places. It took me 6 months to get my first interview and I had about 400 resume's out in various places.

all places I applied were in my area of study along with 5 years experience in that field

get uest to being jobless if your gonna apply to a "few" places
