The time has come for me to get new work boots for work around my several acres.  I'm looking for good quality boots with top notch SUPPORT for working 6 hours or so.  I spent 5 hours felling trees and cutting wood today and my old boots aren't cutting it.  They don't need to look great - just fit and feel great, protect my feet and clean up well when muddy.  Grip on uneven ground is an important safety need for me.  My price point is roughly $170 or less.

I need recommendations from those with experience because this is outside of my zone.   Red Wing?  Carhartt?

Thanks,
CWO

My last two pair of work boots have been Redwing, and it is time for a new pair (don't really need them, but the company insists on buying me a new pair every two years), I will be going with Redwings again.

My first pair, and my next pair are the ten inch loggers, model 2299, I would suggest going with an eight inch for comfort, my company requires a ten inch boot, otherwise these have been the best all around work boots I have every owned.

2nd vote for RW. I am just now getting my new pair broken in after about 6 weeks.

Once they are broken in, they are awesome.

Of course, what I do isn't really "work," but nonetheless, they're great boots...

these

been wearing them for over 10 years. a little pricey, but they hold up very well to oil and grease. I have owned over 6 pair of these

All my boots (except motorcycle boots) are Redwings.

I've always gone with Danner since I got my first pr.
Might be a bit above your price point though, depending upon which boot you opt for.

Redwings.  Make sure to rub some mink oil on them now and then and they will last a long time.

What size do ya wear? I have some older wildland boots that I paid like 300 dollars. For they just sit in my closet because they don't fit. Would send em to ya for postage?
