I love Pink Floyd. One of my all time favorite bands, even my two young kids like the Floyd. Could give a fuck less about his political views. I listen to him for music, not politics. He kinda wears his politics on his sleeve. IMHO 'Animals' is the best Pink Floyd album musically, and one of the most political which is a damn shame. |

Quoted: Id rather see David Gilmour and the rest of Pink Floyd. No Roger Waters no Pink Floyd... Everything after he left came up short, Gilmour did a lot of good work backing up Waters and his singing parts but Waters wrote pretty much all of the Floyd music that mattered. |

Quoted: Funny The Final Cut has to be my favorite of all Floyd albums but it is really personal opinion....Quoted: Quoted: Id rather see David Gilmour and the rest of Pink Floyd. I saw DSOTM at the Woodlands in 08 and it was, hands down, the best concert I've ever seen. Until tonight! The Wall was amazing. I've learned to put politics aside when entertainment is concerned, but there was no need tonight. The only political message was, don't trust the government, and I think we can all agree with that. Roger Waters < Syd Barrett. |

But again who wrote their most successful music. It is all personal opinion but Floyd would have fallen into obscurity and been forgotten had they just broken up when Barrett had his breakdown. Pink Floyd was a collaborative effort. It went downhill when Waters started to treat it like his back-up band. |

David Gilmour > Roger Waters Never seen Gilmore , but the wife and I wen't to the wall in STL. Fucking awesome. Wish it was the total PF. Guitar sounds were'rt lacking for me. Verry well played show, and an experience I'll never forget. For that night I said, Fuck Gilmore. |

I saw the Gilmour version of Floyd back in 94 at Yankee stadium, the Waters version edges that out a bit IMO.

| Went to see him in Minneapolis. It was not Pink Floyd's The Wall. It was Roger Waters’ Harangue Against War and Capitalism, Set to the Music of Pink Floyd’s The Wall. He spent over two hours trying to pound a square peg into the round hole of his original work, but never quite managed to make it fit. The musicians were excellent and the production was very well done, but I ultimately walked away feeling disappointed. |

Yes, and thanks but....Reagan is spelt thus.Quoted:
Saw him last month, awe inspiring show that surpassed my wildest expectations. Commie/socialist? who cares. Its all about the music and its pretty anti-Thatcher/Regan-gov which wins in my book. Fixed it for ya...... |

Pink Floyd, with Gilmour at the helm continued on just fine without waters. Waters hasn't done shit (of any substance) since "The Wall". And frankly, IMHO, The wall wasn't all that great. A few good musical cuts came from it, but all in all, it came off like the ravings of a mad man. An acid trip gone bad.
Gilmour, and the rest of the Pink Floyd went on to release "Momentary Lapse of Reason", which sparked the "Delicate Sound of Thunder" tour, and later the "Division Bell" album, and P.U.L.S.E. Tour. IMHO, some of the best Floyd works to date. Waters had NOTHING to do with either. His ego left him behind. (Both concerts available on DVD, if you haven't seen them) I saw Waters when he played the Woodlands last year. It was OK, but the fact that he would play a small outdoor theatre at all speaks volumes. Gilmour is the man. He won the rights to the "Pink Floyd" name, and rightly so. He had the PF musicians to go with it. Waters is just the front man for a Pink Floyd cover band. Good? Yes. But that goes for any good redition of the Floyd experience. But damn sure not worth the money Waters is charging to to see it. You get more bang for the buck going to see these guys: "The British Pink Floyd Show." http://britfloyd.com They are all about the music. As it should be. |

He wrecked Pink Floyd with his self-indulgent nihilism. After 'Wish You Were Here' is was all downhill. First statement is correct. Second statement is not. "The Wall" album is one of the best classics of all time. I saw RW in '07, one of the best concerts I've ever been to. And I've been to many. |

Quoted: Pink Floyd, with Gilmour at the helm continued on just fine without waters. Waters hasn't done shit (of any substance) since "The Wall". Meh... I guess it's all a matter of opinion. I thought MLoR and Division Bell were ponderous arena rock albums. Boring. "Amused To Death" was better than anything Gilmour has done with Pink Floyd since Waters' departure... at least, IMO.

Quoted: Quoted: Reviews for his concerts are hit and miss. I've seen The Wall twice now. Incredible. (Seeing it again in May.) I'm not risking $200 to listen to off key singing with back ups and music being synced over, just like some of his last concerts before this one. Then, if he wants to, spout bullshit. ![]() |
