I can't seem to find any information on my state laws, Illinois, what time frames firearm shooting is prohibited.  It sure gets dark early here now and I don't want to break any laws and piss off neighbors.

Thanks

That will probably be a county or city ordinance.

Your question could be worded better––––and there may be local or county ordinances that are hard to search for, to boot.

Can't find anything, but you might wanna search here: http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs2.asp?ChapterID=53

Or consult a legal expert in IL.

I'm not a lawyer, but my guess is that any laws if they exist would be either
1. Based on sunrise/sunset (like hunting regulations)
or
2. Based on noise ordinances (no loud noises after 11 pm or whatever)

but I suppose there could be some specific prohibition on discharge of a firearm between certain hours on the books though I've never heard of such.

Maybe you could call the sheriff/ police and ask?  (Don't call 911 )  look up the administrative number and call that.  Asking the police for legal advice is shaky, but could give some leads.
