According to Lucas in this week's Time, The Star Wars serial is an example of how all democracies eventually become dictatorships. Sounds almost like Imbroglio. The Stormtroopers were created by the Republic to fight internal threats and eventually became the tools of the dictatorship.

Intriguing and seems very descriptive of the last thirty years of our Republic.

Yeah, I'm sure that's what he was thinking when he wrote it in 1974, and again in 1976.

Of course, we don't live in a democracy...
