There are 20 different airsoft copies including the 'official' Magpul PTS sights.. your better off just paying the $$ to get it right the first time.

I believe Magpul licenses airsoft copies of their stuff, you may be seeing those.

Due to Magpul creating the PTS line, there actually are no illegal clones of the MBUS that I'm aware of.

Quoted from another site very similar to this but strangely never referenced so I'll not mention the site name even though you can figure out what I'm talking about:

"The PTS brand are Magpul licensed airsoft products made in Hong Kong and
marked as such. PTS items use generic polymer and not PMag type resin
that the US items are made of. Other hardware is probably different in
terms of coatings and such.

As such PTS items should only be used on Airsoft guns.
"
Now, Troy, DD, LaRue, Noveske.... that's a different story.

Doesn't mean anything. Buy from a reputable dealer (any of the links at the top of this page) and know your getting the real deal.

well the siting was on ebay..but shortly after i posted my question... all the sales that i was referring  to ended.  I dont know if they were for airsoft or not but i do know that now all the magpul sights that i search for come up as atleast 90 dollars for the set.
so more then likely they were in fact airsoft  or copies

PTS has shut down most of the HK cloning companies but there are still many copies floating around out there: http://www.airsoft-news.eu/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.134

$95 for the airsoft set? That seems odd. I just looked and the real versions are available for basically the same price at several of the vendors at the top of this page.

No it was 95 for the real ones... or rather different ones... they were definatly not marked for air soft... I saw some for airsoft and those were around 30 to 50 range...  the ones i originally posted about were listed at less then 30 for the set. ... anyway.. thanks for the input
