Anyone know why a fairly new LED flashlight would start flickering?  I can't seem to find an answer via Google.

Clean off the contacts and threads. You're likely just fucked though.

When LEDs go, they pretty much just go.

Battery is dying.

Most likely a poor connection either at the battery contacts, or where the battery compartment cap screws into the flashlight housing.

You can clean the connections (including the terminals on the batteries themselves) with concentrated (91 percent) rubbing alcohol (or red-bottle Iso-HEET fuel system dryer) - Use an alcohol-soaked Q-tip to reach the positive contact inside the housing.

Did that, was my first thought.  Helped but it returned.

I'll give that a try.
