No, this is not an election thread.

I put out 2lbs of block bait and most of it was gone today, including an entire 3oz place pouch.

I mean gone, no crumbs, no paper, nothing. I'm  using two different baits, Tomcat and Hawk, basically the same thing with different active ingredients.

Anybody using anything else for rat control?

I don't need to, my property is loaded with rat snakes.

Have you considered the unintended consequences of using that much poison?

Sounds like your problem will be solved in a few days.  What were the active ingredients?  If they are anticoagulants they will take a few days to work, but they will do the job if the rats ate enough.

For stubborn rodent problems, you might want to move up to 2% zinc phosphide, which is available at most home and garden stores under the Tomcat brand.  But you have to be careful with that one, less margin for safety.  Read the label first.

Well, I've got 14 buildings (about 50,000 sqft) spread out on 100,000 sq ft, in an urban area with a creek on one side.

I'm open to better options.

Can't nuke'em. Can't use a flamethrower. Traditional weapons fire draws attention from the popo. Can't fumigate. Can't eliminate the food supply because they are basically eating what I sell, and it's not trash or spillage, it's the actual product and the buildings have to stay warm.

Try the 5 gallon bucket 1/2 full of water with the empty can covered with Peanut Butter...

Supply a ramp that allows them to easily get to the can, they fall into the bucket and drown...
