My KTSub2K functions flawlessly with lower-powered 115grFMJ discount loads (WinWB, Fed.Champion, Blazer Brass, etc.) but has consistant failures to eject with anything a bit more powered including RWS, Geco and Fiocchi 124gr.FMJ. Standard pressure HPs (non+P) work fine if the gun is clean. I am starting to think the recoil spring may be week and is allowing the bolt to slam back against the stop and then slam forward before the extracted cartridge case clears the ejection port.

Does this sound like symptoms of a recoil spring that needs to be replaced?

Has anybody ever felt the need to replace the recoil spring on their Sub2K for any reason?

Thanks in advance.

Also, I think I may try lubricating the action with Nancy Pelosi's tears! Yes - sweet and salty tears, cry me cupful you demented, clown-hag!!!

I have no advice on your Kel-Tec issue, but I wanted to commend you on your Pelosi segue!

Kel-Tec does have a lifetime warranty so you could send it back and they'll take care of it.

....but I'm not sure if witches tears are one of their approved lubricants?

If anything, I've always read the opposite –– that the SUBs like heavier loads, especially during break-in.

I wouldn't hesitate to send it back to KT (they have excellent CS), but if it were me I think I'd try changing the spring first. Even if that doesn't turn out to be the issue, it won't be a bad thing to have a spare lying around.

KTOG has a forum specific to the SUBs and several folks over there who've forgotten more about them than I'll ever know –– you might want to post this question over there: http://www.ktog.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?board=102

Your gun doesn't like European 9mm.

So don't shoot European 9mm.

Problem solved.
