Daughter downloaded a malware program today and I cannot fighre out how to restart in safe mode..

when you reboot hit F8 key before windows starts.

I just repeat all the F keys on startup but what OS are you running I will do a search for you.

WIn XP on a toshiba laptop..

F8 right after the computer powers on.

Keep tapping F8 repeatedly after you turn the computer on.

What's the name of the malware? Safe mode may not be the answer.

Bootable AV. It's the only way.

I just removed that from my wifes Toshiba laptop. Malwarebytes did it.

Allright.. i'm in safe mode and running malewarebytes now.. we shall see if this get's rid of it..
