I'm new to this board, I got sick of the M4carbine elite @holes a while ago and haven't been posting much AR stuff lately. Anywho, since its Halloween I thought this was a good photo op today

So 'Tier One' that they believe they can't even bring themselves to write ar15.com or even arfcom. It's 'TOS' (The Other Site) over there because 1) the site owner got kicked off here for attempted price fixing and 2) it helps them maintain a sense of superiority. I wouldn't go so far as to characterize the entire site as @holes, but the arrogance often becomes too much. |

Does anyone there think the whole Voldemortish 'The Site That Shall Not Be Mentioned' is silly? I think it's silly. |

Noob's should not steal tarantulas from my thread Wife's porch find |
|
That's not a Tarantula. That's about the size of a Wisconsin Wolf spider.
Now, the spider I ran over with my car on Route 60 in Arizona a few weeks ago.........THAT was definitely a tarantula. It was as big as a damned DINNER PLATE. I thought it was going to fuck the rental car up when I hit it! I was getting shivers days later thinking about it. |

No, it was just crawlin along the sidewalk today and I picked it up to see if it'd sit on the rifle for a minute while I got my camera. I do have a full grown one as a pet though. |

Did you take those pics in your car? Did you bare hand it when you said you picked it up? The pics were taken on the driver's seat of my diesel, you can handle tarantulas barehanded as long as you don't irritate them. They typically have a cool demeanor. |

It's a Brachypelma smithi, same species as Noname's molt there (ETA- Or is that one a B. auratum?). They're really gentle, it's the only one of mine I handle on purpose. This is a more current photo of the same spider. ![]() Here's a cool one of my OBT... Cool to look at, but it's best to keep it contained. ![]() ![]() |

Did you take those pics in your car? Did you bare hand it when you said you picked it up? Tarantulas can't hurt you badly. The bite is no worse than a wasp sting, unless you're allergic. Pain, redness and a bit of swelling. Not exactly enjoyable but most arfcommers have probably had far worse injuries from an improperly aimed hammer. |
