Remember the concept of "secret ballot," where nobody knew how a person voted, so nobody would feel intimidated into voting a certain way?
Card check takes that concept and throws it out the window... Now union thugs can see everyone's vote whether to unionize or not... and unofficially threaten anyone who voted against it, if the vote goes the union's way... |

It is a payback to the unions to make it easier for the socialist scum to force unions on more workplaces.
Right now if someone wants to form a union is works like this- the "community organizers" go around to people who work there and get them to sign a "card" that says they are interested in forming a union. If enough workers sign the cards or petition, then the NLRB comes in and sets up a secret ballot election. If 51% of the work force votes for the union, it comes to power. Many secret ballot votes fail even after 60-70% of the workforce signed cards. Why? Because when Bruno and Vito from the AFL-CIO or SEIU surround you after work and "encourage" you to sign the card, and point out that if you don't support the union when it tries to form they will remember and life can be hard for you after it forms, many people can be bullied into signing. At least the secret ballot, as screwed up as the process is, lets the workers vote free of coercion. "Card Check" legislation will skip the secret ballot, and as soon as they have bullied 51% of the workforce into signing the union will be forced on everyone. Of course, what could go wrong trusting the AFL-CIO, SEIU and Acorn to go around getting people to sign voter registrationunion cards- no chance for fraud or thuggery there at all. |

God forbid you should have to show your ID and prove you are who you say you are for things like, voting, traffic stops, school registration, etc. Card Check is lib-speak for eliminating the secret ballot in union votes so the kneebreakers know who to hurt and the bosses know who to not give jobs to. Be careful of lib-speak, they're tricky! |

Unions that actually provided economic benefit would be a powerful thing and would probably look a lot like labor brokerages. There would still be room for trade unions, as evidenced by the demand for industry certified training in other sectors. |

Unions extort millions of dollars from their members. Unions funnel hundreds of millions of dollars to Democratic politcians and political groups, and indirectly provide them even more support- like "loaning" union employees, paid by union dues, to work on Democrat campaign staffs, allowing them to use union facilities, etc. Unions are the largest donors to anti-gun, anti-capitalism, anti-freedom candidates. Union lie to their members about the candidates, like the AFL-CIO claiming Obama is pro-gun, and many union members are gullible enough to believe it. Thus the unions help Democrats get to power and keep power. This law will help the unions grow larger. Larger unions= more money for the Democrats= more power for the Democrats. |
