Got this in an email...I know I know...but still, has anybody heard anything about this? This came from within Anniston this morning. CMP doesn't know much about it. But my source from inside of Anniston said that they are moving all of the rifles, pistols and ammo, in order toprepare for destruction, and that the only thing they are doing at the Arsenal is preparing some troops who are leaving for Afghanistan.There are at least 8 crates of rifles that have already being destroyed. NRA has already verified that this has begun. I talked with the NRA this morning, after I got the phone call. The rifles have not been stripped for parts. I have been told that this has already begun. Rick |

I was at the North store last Thursday for the first time ever. Racks were full, store was open and seemed fully staffed. Only bad news was all I had money for was a hoodie and not a rifle. Again, my first time there but seemed to be business as usual considering I was one of 3 customers at the time. |
| Yeah, that makes perfect sense. Well, except for the part about the pistols, which the CMP doesn't sell. And the NRA, who wouldn't have more info about it than the CMP itself. And the idea that the CMP wouldn't know what was going on if all of their inventory was being liquidated. |

That would make a lot more sense- that they are destorying weapons being removed from service that can't be surplussed (because of law/ EO/ policy). |

I would have a hard time believing any serviceable rifles are being destroyed. ETA CMP is now selling M14 parts sets ( all parts except barrel and receiver ) maybe that is what he saw. |
