Hopefully not a dupe....
link Want to take bets on how long it takes for the wikileaks founder to disappear? |

What about the tons of classified information passed to news networks by "senior placed officials" etc.
I think this is good, we need transparency in a war that has no checks and balances. Why don't we have Osama yet? We need to start holding the guys in charge accountable, and this is the first step. And I am glad that I live in a country that won't kill or "make disappear" this guy. |

Want to take bets on how long it takes for the wikileaks founder to disappear? this comes up EVERY time they post something new, and he never does. I wish he would. ![]() I wish he'd just post up something beneficial to the American people... like evidence of corruption inside of BATFE, DEA, et al. Stuff that will make some of those asshats go to jail for a very long time for the lying bullshit they do to justify their fucking miserable existence. A prime example would be all documentation relating to Albert Kwan or David Olofson or Waco, or Randy Weaver, or Friessen, |

sigh transparency=\= access to classified information. You do not have the right to intelligence data to satisfy your own curiosity. |

On top of that, the DoD admitted recently that there's no evidence anybody that was supposedly endangered by the previous leaks has come to harm. |

Most of what he posts is garbage or has already been leaked, I have yet to see anything important to NS that was not previously known. Uh, the names of Afgans who work with us? According to the DoD, Wikileaks "has not revealed any sensitive intelligence sources or compromised methods by the disclosure" and "there has been no indication" that local nationals on our side have been harmed. Do you think that Gates' contradiction of those charges will get as much play here as the original media accusations? |

FOIA stuff is going to be denied or redacted if there is a valid national security interest. For example papers with the names of informants. |

This is the first time I posted agreeing with you. I was talking about the wikileaks that ratted out the Afgan informants, not FOIA requests. |

I was talking about the previous leaks, as an example. And frankly the DoD claims ring hollow; even if true it won't be by the time we leave A'stan, and the question is how many potential informants are now no longer potential informants. DoD has a reason to lie over this. |

I don't think that's correct, exactly. Consider a document classified due to several pages of info. With FOIA you can get the document, but the classified pages are removed. But you get the rest of the stuff you couldn't get before. |
