Why Israel Needs the Bomb By MARK HELPRIN, Wall Street Journal Sixty-five years after Germany's campaign to exterminate the Jews, of the many countries in the world Israel is the only one repeatedly subjected to calls for its extinction. Though Pakistan and India, like Israel and the Arabs, have suffered population exchange and territorial wars, neither questions the other's right to exist. So rare and extreme is such a position that one might think the countries of Europe, so many of which cooperated in hunting down their Jews, would do more to recognize its endemic presence in the Middle East. They don't—their publics having largely accepted that, in regard to the question of Palestine, Arabs were the victims and Jews the victimizers and colonialists to boot. Even though, strangely for colonialists, the Jews had no mother country and it was their armed struggle that ejected Great Britain from the Levant. Conveniently forgotten is that the Jews accepted partition and the Arabs did not; that half the Palestinians who left in 1948 did so of their own volition; that more Jews left and were expelled from Arab countries than Arabs left and were expelled from Palestine; that Arabs were able to remain in Israel whereas the Arab states are effectively Judenrein; that Israel ceded the Sinai for a paper treaty, and Gaza in return for nothing but rockets and bombs; that, amidst a sea of Islamic states, it has accepted a Palestinian state while the Palestinians indignantly refuse to recognize it as a Jewish state; and that it was ready to compromise even on Jerusalem had Yasser Arafat been willing to take yes for an answer. continues...... . |

Don't forget to that they also have a decent supply of German built Boomers capable of launching nukes as well. The unofficial count is 5 right now. Getting the bulk of Israel’s nuclear deterrent force out to sea and away from fixed bases is the only logical way to survive. For a country the size of Israel, this eliminates the very real possibility of complete destruction through a first strike. |

If south Africa of all countries was able to easily develop and start to stockpile nuclear weapons than I have a strange feeling that the evil Joo's who fucking discovered the secret to unlocking nuclear power were probably pretty capable of managing it on their own. The fact that they were the only country given unlimited access to Frances nuclear enrichment and nuclear power plants probably didnt hurt things either. |

O wait... o thats right theres no fucking way were giving texas back to anyone. ya that kinda makes sense, but Israel still repeatedly has offered to trade a tangible for an intangible, land for peace, and so far its been working out super well for them. In all probability, they acquired their nuclear capabilities (unofficially) from the US either through espionage or through unofficial channels. |

I think we can also agree that Israel has not actually detonated an Atomic bomb (in public) in the last 30-40 years. Therefore, I think you can safely say that ISRAEL has been very patient with their bomb. And that ISRAEL actually would hesitate to use use it, because they have. In case you haven't noticed, most of the problems around the world come from governments. Except for ISRAEL. Granted, the simple gun-type that SA had was not that sophisticated and Izzy probably had boosted fusion devices by that time. SA had an enrichment process of their own design and a good source of uranium, which is what they had shared with Israel. SA also got missile technology from Israel in the form of the Jericho missile, which became the RSA-1 through RSA-4 missiles. |
