We had a Five Guys open up here in town a couple weeks ago. I finally got around to taking the wife and son to try it. Not bad. I like the fries and the burgers are decent. A little pricey though. Twice the cost of a Double Double from In N Out. It was $31 for three cheese burgers, sodas and a large fry to split between us. I'll stick with In N Out. |

I'd say it was the equivalent of four In N Out orders of fries. |

Like em.
Is pricey. But one large fry is enough for several people. As I have said in the last 9 Hamburger threads..... Outback}}}}No Rules Burger (if it ain't on the menu ask for it). Anyway you want it, anything on it, Comes with bread and butter up front, BP or fries or salad or soup. Around 8 bucks then add drink you are at 10. Beats the hell out of any of those burgers Fastfood burger...5 guys or Burger Street. |

Quoted: never been to In N Out when I was in CA (don't know if there were any where I was at) but that's how they do the fries at the Five Guys around here.Quoted: Quoted: We had a Five Guys open up here in town a couple weeks ago. Five Guys started in this part of Virginia, maybe the locations around here are more "original" than others as I've only been to the ones here. |

Burgers - Awesome Fries - Not so much...... My $0.02 I will give you this. However, we went there Friday for lunch and the fries were cooked longer than usual. They were way better than their usual undercooked limp fries. Quoted:
Five Guys = Overcooked Beef Wow your Five Guys must suck. The new one that opened in my town cooks their burgers perfectly. I was in Minneapolis and they did a good job there. |

When the newest one around here opened, it seemed they overcooked their burgers too. After a year, it has gotten much better. And nobody around here gives you as many fries as they do! |

I used to eat there all the time, but now-a-days almost never. The quality took a nose dive when they started their massive franchising campaign. It was the shit when it was just the first burger joint and even when it was just a local franchise. I have a lot of good memories of eating at the one down the street from my school as a kid. I think it was one of the first new locations, before they offically franchised.
I have just officially dated myself havent I? |
here in Augusta, 5 thugs and fires is fair at best. my wife and i went once, when it was fairly new. the place was packed with gang bangers, the "young lady" taking the order kept talking to half of them and not doing her job, the manager just stayed in the back helping make their burgers . every time we drive by the place has the typical box chevy's with 22" inch rims, filling up the parking lot . i heard several people at work RAVE about how good the place was, they also consider Captain D's real seafood, so i should have known better |

when you go there, plan on paying 11 bucks for each person. way over priced, but i do love their fries. You only need to get one order of fries for everybody. So its more like $6/per burger + $6 for everybody's fries. Of course, I don't ever get fountain drinks, so that'll drive up the cost per person if you do get them. |

No In-and-Out around here, but they just opened a Five Guys here in town, about a week ago. I gotta say, it was pretty fucking good. I'd definitely go back. It's a little pricey, but it's the way the menu is structured. You can get a small, (one patty), a regular, (two patties), a bacon burger, or a bacon cheeseburger. From there, you can choose from a list of toppings, for free. Doesn't matter if you want one topping, or all of them. I got a bacon cheeseburger, with grilled onions, mayo, and mustard. It was $5.79. If I would've gotten mayo, mustard, onions, jalapenos, mushrooms, and five other toppings, it still would've cost $5.79. Another interesting tidbit of knowledge...There's no frozen food. The one here doesn't even have a freezer. Everything is fresh. |
