Just saw the episode where they were convicted again-the retro channel shows an episode every night. I probably saw every episode back when I was between 8 and 12, but don't remember much at all(several single scenes that I thought were cool at the time is about it). Did they ever get their names cleared, or did the series just run until it was cancelled?

I don't remember them ever being cleared, but I can't say for certain I saw the last few episodes. It started going downhill.

They also never managed to harm anyone they shot at.

I thought they were working for the CIA in the last season

I don't know about that-I thought the episode that was on in the last few nights showed one of them scoring a hit-granted, it was one of the Vietnam flashbacks using an M16 and not a FA Mini 14, but it was a hit. I could be wrong though.
I do know that Murdock was hit pretty badly at least once. Decker hid a tracking beacon in the first aid kit they stole to save him.

I think they ended up working for the gov again.

They were all convicted and went to the firing squad.  Faking their own deaths, they escaped and  continued to be pursued, working for a pseudo-government agency.  The series ended without any resolution.

I hate to thread crap, but that has to be one of the worst series ever, how it managed to stay on so long I can't fathom.
