So, I want to replace the full-length guide rod setup on my 5" Kimber (over there <–––––––––––– ) with a GI-style setup. Which one should I go with, from whom, and what weight spring? I don't shoot +P loads, my frame's aluminum, and there's about 4 or 5 different weights and such. Help! ETA: Would I be able to use the SAME recoil spring? |

You get more barrel float with the USGI set up then the full length guide rod |

Quoted: Yours is the first post I've heard mention such a thing. How would this affect accuracy and reliability? I thought it wouldn't quite matter so much, if the bushing was already "good"?Quoted: So, I want to replace the full-length guide rod setup on my 5" Kimber(over there <–––––––––––– ) with a GI-style setup.
