Ok I have heard all the drama from the past, but what is the scoop on the actual training. The wife wants to go to Vegas next year and also wants some real handgun training. Some of the deals are great, but I would like to know the hives opinion before I go any further.

I took the basic rifle course a couple of years ago. I found the training to be very good: no complaints at all. Most people who go there have the same opinion. Those who don't have already had training that exceeds that available at FS.

The consensus is that while the training isn't bad, it's not exactly cutting edge (still teaches Weaver, etc.) and there are better places to spend your training dollars.

Google Front Sight.  Read the info and decide for yourself.  I live in Vegas and personally, I would drink a glass of warm piss before I took training with them.

I have been to frontsight and really liked it.   we took the free subgun class a few years back and I went through a basic handgun class with a new to guns buddy. Both were well taught and the instructors were excellent I thought.

I am going to have my wife take their basic handgun class.

I'm surprised you advocate a place you cannot even spell.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a graduate of Gunsite, and highly recommend it. I even know how it's spelled.
