I may regret asking this here, but here it goes.....

Does anyone have any idea on what an autographed 1953 (judging by the roster for that year and the signatures) Cubs baseball may be worth? It is signed by 23 players (minus Ernie Banks) and their manager at the time. It was my grandfathers anmd remember seeing it for most of my life.

I would like to get it authenticated/appraised but don't want to spend $100 on a $100 ball.

Anyone have any experience in this matter? Thanks

I have a COMPLETE 1967 St. Louis Cardinals autographed baseball that I found in my great uncles belongings. That was the same year that the Cardinals won the world series. I am told it is work over 1000 dollars. I also need to look at getting it authenticated. I know this might not help, but I can promise that ball of yours is valued between 600 and 1000 dollars. Sorry I can't be more precise. A 1950 Cubs ball is worth about 600 bucks and late 1960's ball is worth about 800 or 900. It all depends on who signed it of course, and much more importantly how many balls from that year are in existence. Eventhough my world series championship ball has all of the signatures, the value is hurt, because since the Cardinals won the pennant, they signed a WHOLE LOT of balls.
